An audio-journey exploring the erotic, physics and relational possibilities of our mudded world, that plays in-with mud as an agent for worlding and reimagining kinship. Here, mudding is a practice of imagining, feeling, and thinking with/in/for a world without separability, determinacy, sequentiality. Through fragmented memories, vibrations, melting objects, rebajadas, you’ll be absorbed into a sensorial experience of our (infra)world.

The piece opens with a memory of a grandmother recalling childhood games in the pantano on the banks of the Río Bravo, children dancing the mambo, sinking into mud. The piece descends into the (infra)mundo, a sustained immersion in mud as substance, condition, distortion. Through dialogue, lyric, and live mud, we invite listeners to lean, sink, and surrender: to test the limits we have inherited and to imagine kinship otherwise, together. Slow your footsteps, listen with your soles, and be mudded.
