ABOUT
"Vive la Résistance!" is a long-term research based multimedia project by Marta Bogdańska. In an innovative and surprising way it tells the story of animal resistance. Based on archival materials, photographs and media features, through conversations with experts from the world of science, culture and art, as well as collaborations with other artists, the project focuses on the forms and possibilities of other-than-human acts of defiance and refusal.

Vive la resistance, Marta Bogdanska
Various artistic outcomes are envisioned including a transmedia publication, video essays, audio works, installations, collages and an animal resistance manifesto. She also released the second edition of her award winning photobook SHIFTERS: a 14-chapter research about suspicious squirrels, spying dolphins, nuclear lizards, photographer pigeons. It investigates the use of animals as soldiers, spies, police, kamikaze. Bogdańska leads the reader on an artistic and ethical exploration of the presence of animals within the machinery of Western defence institutions from the late nineteenth century to the 1970s.
