Co-Ecologies Residency Program
The Co-Ecologies residency program addressed issues related to the Anthropocene, envisioning a not-so-distant future in which the human race will become aware of its co-dependence with the environment, and cooperation between different disciplines will provide new solutions to the stagnation resulting from the climate crisis. The biological, geological and ecological processes that the latest technologies and contemporary artistic practices are using to devise alternative ways of life and coexistence on our planet will be debated throughout the semester.
CONTRIBUTION
From a broad approach to contemporary ecologies that defy rigid categorizations, the workshop delves into the genealogies of the Postnatural, as a thinking tool and political subject. By looking into the terminologies related to the ecological crisis, multiple approaches unfolded, both theoretical and material, to investigate other modes and perspectives that decolonize and expand our understanding of the environment, particularly focused on the Phonocene. From this perspective, the basis for the implementation of new ecologies of coexistence is based on actively listening to the voices of those around us, human and non-human, artificial and organic, imagined and real.
